Cellularflip.com Pays You Cash for Your Cell Phones & Gadgets

Cellularflip.com has introduced a new website where consumers can quickly get cash for old consumer electronics such as cellphones and tablets. Visitors to the site are asked the brand or model of their device and Cellularflip gives them an instant online quote. The company also gives consumers a pre-paid envelope or box to ship the electronics to their nationwide recycling facility located in Atlanta, Georgia

Once the package arrives at their facility, technicians inspect the electronics and issue consumers a payment via check or PayPal the same business day. The concept behind Cellularflip is to create a fast and easy way for consumers to offload unwanted gadgets for cash. Eric Schwartz, Cellularflip's chief executive, says that The average US household has 6 unused cellphones just lying around that they can sell for cash.
Alternatives include companies such as FlipSwap, which partners with retailers to provide gift cards for consumers who trade in their consumer electronics. Others include cellforcash.com, which will give you quotes and pay to have you ship old cell phones. Buymytronics.com also purchases used electronics, though they do not cover shipping costs. TechForward also sells insurance policies for consumer electronics that can be cashed out if the manufacturer releases an upgrade during a designated time period and your device has remained in good condition. "Sure you can sell on sites like eBay, there's no guarantee of how much your device will sell for", says Schwartz.

Cellularflip purchases items in several categories that include cell phones, tablet computers and MP3 players. The site currently has a catalogue of more than 5,000 products. Consumers selling items that contain personal data, such as cellphones, can rest easy knowing that Cellularflip wipes all devices upon arrival at their recycling facility using Department of Defense grade software.
